Come on ......

Evolution, the size of your preferences window is shameful. I'm using the C locale with a resolution of 1280x800 and the preferences dialog cannot fit completely on my screen. This is a known bug at lower resolutions as well. It appears that the "Mail Preferences" selection in the left frame is the culprit. The "General tab in particular since none of the others occupy the whole window. Please fix this!

You could spend the next year blogging about Evolution UI issues and still get nothing accomplished... Depressing.

This is just one of many pet peeves of what could be/used to be a pretty good mail reader. Try using that settings dialog on a small laptop screen. And I have to use that dialog twice a day since I can't check my work mail from home, so Evolution keeps putting up a popup every time it checks mail and can't get to that account - a popup that's right on top of the screen and can't be sent to the back or minimized.

I've stopped submitting bugs like this since they just don't ever seem to be of any interest to the developers. It's the same situation as with Abiword - potentially the best tool out there, but hobbled by UI issues that make them frustrating or near-unuseable.

I have been planning some work on showing preferences corresponding to the component from where you launched.

For instance, if you go to preferences from Mail, you will get only "Mail Preferences"
